Queenscliff is a small town on the Bellarine Peninsula in southern Victoria, Australia, south of Swan Bay at the entrance to Port Phillip, and is only 90 minutes from Melbourne by car, and about 20 minutes from Ocean Grove or Geelong.
Queenscliff is a beautiful place to visit and I have put together an accessible day of sightseeing so that you can plan ahead.
Tip 1 - The Harbour (Of Course!)
Take a walk along the boardwalk of the Queenscliff Harbour Village and you will find a dynamic retail precinct which includes, men’s & ladies fashion, home wares, hair & beauty, a financial advisor, a snowboard manufacturer & a soon to open business hub.
Foodies are not forgotten either, with Queenscliff Harbour Village offering the best and freshest seafood from casual dining, events and weddings to fish & chips, gourmet pizza, seafood chowder, coffee, cake and ice-cream. The best local produce and fresh seafood are all available in pristine surroundings offering incomparable bay views from pretty much any store or restaurant.

Tip 2 - Sea Road Ferry
Searoad Ferries, operates 2 all weather car and passenger ferries on Melbourne’s spectacular Port Phillip Bay. Sailing between Sorrento and Queenscliff 365 days a year and carrying more than 800,000 people annually.
Searoad Ferries offers facilities and easy boarding for passengers of varying mobility. Please make sure you identify yourself when collecting your boarding pass at the ticketing windows so that we can assist you. If we are aware of your needs we can make sure your car is within easy access to the lift, arrange for extra wide space for wheelchair access to vehicles in parking lanes, direct foot passengers to designated waiting areas or provide assistance with foot passenger for boarding.
Both ferries are roll on/roll off. Boarding the ferry is very simple and easy via the car deck. There is a small lip to manouvre over where the ramp of the ferry sits on the ground.
There is a lift on the Car Deck of both ferries which will take you up to the Lounge Deck. The Lounge Deck has full length viewing windows and a range of seating areas as well as a on board cafe, children’s play area and charging stations. It is all one level with access to a small external deck. There are accessible toilet facilities on both ferries.
Tip 3 - The Queenscliff Tower
Catch a lift or walk the stairs to the top of the Queenscliff Harbour Observation tower which soars 40 metres into the air and has spectacular 360 degree views of Queenscliff and its surrounds.
From the lookout tower, you could spend hours soaking up the incredible views or watch the pilot boats return from their trips through Port Phillip heads.
The view of the boats and beyond to the Queenscliff Boatyard, where a crane capable of lifting craft up to 150 tonnes out of the water for service or maintenance, is breathtaking.
Operating hours are 7 days per week 9am till 4:30pm and is on the harbour.
