Barwon River is Wheelchair Accessible

Updated: May 2, 2019

The beautiful Barwon River meanders it's way between the coastal towns of Barwon Heads (in the distance below), and Ocean Grove. The paved pathway that my guests Tami and Ben are pictured, starts 400 metres from the Bell Air Wheelchair Accessible Holiday Homes. Access to the Barwon River pathway is by footpath and roadway. The walk starts at the Ocean Grove golf club and heads south towards the Barwon Heads bridge.

The walk is an beautifully tranquil wheel or walk, and can last for as long as your heart desires. The path changes from paved to unpaved sections as it cuts across the front of the Riverview Caravan Park, with scatterings of lovely wooden walkways along the way.

And if you are a bit peckish on your journey back to Bell Air, why not make a quick diversion to The Garage Cafe. Situated in Lelean Street, it is not surprising that the cafe was once a thriving service station then left empty for years until this much needed cafe came along. It is only a block from the Barwon River so it is a very easy accessible cafe to reach and offers lovely food, GREAT coffee and awesome indoor/outdoor areas.

Meet my wonderful guest Chris, on his recent wander down to get his coffee. He loved the easy access to the indoor area and the alfresco ordering window as well.

We would love to welcome you to Ocean Grove, call us now and we will help you plan the ultimate adventures and experiences based on your own time-frame and mobility needs.
